How to Set Unique Text Size for Different Apps in IOS 15

The iPhone has a great accessibility feature that has been adopted by many popular apps. A prime example is the dynamic type, which allows you to increase or decrease the size of text for the OS and all supported applications. Starting with iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 , you will be able to specify the text size for each app (and even the home screen) independently, thanks to the handy new text size control in the Device Control Center. (iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 are currently in public beta , with the stable release due out in the fall.)

How to add a text size control to Control Center

First, you need to add a text size control to the Control Center (toggles that appear when you swipe down from the top right corner of the screen).

Open the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad and go to Control Center . Click the green plus sign next to Text Size to add it to the Control Center. You can now use the three-line pen icon to reposition the Text Size control.

How to resize text for a specific application using Control Center

Now that the Text Size control has been added, open the app where you want to resize the text and swipe down from the top-right corner of the screen to open the Control Center. Tap the ” Aa ” text size icon.

At the bottom, select the ” (Application Name) Only ” option. By default, this function resizes text for the entire OS. You can now swipe up or down to resize the text. You can go all the way from 80% to 310%.

Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to exit the Control Center. You will immediately see the updated text size.

You can return to the default size at any time. To do this, in the Control Center, press the “Text Size” (” Aa “) button and after switching to the “Application Only” option, return to ” 100% “.
