Earn Around $ 1,000 Per Month As a Weed Testing Trainee

Not all internships are the same. Some involve working for an interesting company or organization … but only for filling envelopes or updating email lists. Others do not have a strong name or brand association, but give you a lot of hands-on experience that you can actually use.

But the new internship opportunity doesn’t fall into any of the categories. Rather than organizing old files, this involves testing various weed control products and pays nearly $ 1,000 a month. Here’s what you need to know.

What an internship entails

Cannabis delivery service Emjay hires a summer intern to review every product offered on their website. This is not a joke or an exercise. According to a blog post on the company’s website, the internship will last three months and include the following:

This person will be responsible for writing descriptive, unique and creative texts and reviews about a wide range of cannabis products. Edibles, vapes, flowers and more – there will be a wide variety of food types. The person in this role must understand the cannabis culture, what drives consumers, and be able to describe Emjay’s ever-evolving menu of food offerings.

In particular, the duties of the internship include:

  • Review of each product on heyemjay.com (there are over 600 of them.)
  • Communication with editors
  • Writing quick, scannable and accessible listings with detailed information on cannabis products, as well as more in-depth form reviews

How much is it?

When Thrillist first announced the internship on June 1 , it was advertised that she was paying $ 1,000 a month. Then, three days later, Emjay posted on his blog a post about a position that doesn’t mention a $ 1,000 monthly salary. Instead, it says that the workplace is paid $ 15 an hour up to 16 hours a week – which means that if someone worked a maximum of 64 hours a month, they would earn $ 960 (which, to be fair, is pretty close to 1000 dollars).

The Monday-Friday position does not include traditional benefits such as health insurance, but includes employee discounts and flexible working hours.

Who should apply

According to Emjay , the ideal candidate should:

  • Know more than indica, sativa and hybrid. What about terpenes? What about the rainbow of cannabinoids that make each strain unique?
  • Be timely and attentive to detail
  • Have passion and hunger to taste the most innovative cannabis products on the market.
  • Be a great team member with a collaborative spirit

How to apply

To apply for Emjay’s Summer Internship, you must be 21 years of age or older, reside in California, and reside in the Los Angeles or San Diego areas as the job includes personal components.

To apply, complete this application and send a 1-page sample letter OR a video less than 4 minutes 20 seconds in length to the company telling them why you are the perfect fit to speak. You can do this by uploading it to Google Drive or YouTube and then emailing it to internships@heyemjay.com.
