Now that we may actually be able to do some out-of-home activities this summer, we can return to worrying about normal, non-pandemic parenting issues, such as how can we find our young children if we lose them at home? crowd? A parent at TikTok came up with a solid bracelet solution.
Adore Them Parenting takes those somewhat annoying paper bracelets that we often associate with concerts, fairs, or festivals and transforms them into child-locating devices. Just buy a pack of Tyvek bracelets and store them (and the Sharpie) in your car or bag. When you arrive at a large or crowded destination, write your name and phone number on the bracelet and attach it to their wrist, for example :
Also, teach your child 1) to stay put if he is separated from you, and 2) to show a passing adult ( preferably another parent ) his bracelet so that the adult can call you and tell you that he was found and where they are.
If you prefer not to use a bunch of disposable paper bracelets all summer long, you can do the same with a silicone bracelet that you use over and over again (if it already has a different message printed on it, just turn it inside out and write on the blank side).
