Should You Try These Retro Soda Cocktails?

I am, unfortunately, one of those perverts who drink whole milk. I love it, especially when used with a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, banana, or any chocolate based dessert. But it’s also known that I drank a glass of cold milk on my own as a midnight snack, because, again, I’m a real weirdo.

But even I have my limits, at least when it comes to drinks, which is why I’ve never tasted the retro milk drinks we serve today. I’ve heard of Pepsi-Milk (because of Laverne and Shirley ) but never got it mixed up for myself. However, recently, at the urging of our EIC Alice Bradley (who is also a big Pepsi-Milk fan), I decided to finally give it a try, along with 7 Up-Milk (which I saw on Twitter) and the hot Dr. Pepper (which is pictured in Alicia Silverstone’s 1999 car. ” Blast from the Past” ).

It was a real journey. Every sip was a surprise and my expectations were not met. I liked what I thought I hated and only put up with what I thought I would like. For the first time in our life, Joel and I had a disagreement. (We have made up since then.)

At least those weird retro soda cocktails taught me that there are some things that really need to be tried in order to appreciate them properly. While you may feel like you know your palate, heart, and mind, there is always something that makes you question everything you thought you knew about all three. This is what happened to me during this taste test and I was changed forever. (Joel, unfortunately, was not doing so well, but he is not a freak who drinks cow’s milk on the reg.)
