Or that you never get paid to sit on the couch and play video games all day? Well, it turns out, it seems possible. That’s right: it’s time for this week’s dream job contest, and this one comes with a free PlayStation 5 and $ 1,000 to review the console. Here’s what you need to know.
How to get paid for video games, no matter what your parents say
So what’s the deal with this “job” that sounds too good to be true? The position is with Whistleout.com (which is in no way affiliated with Sony or PlayStation) and they are looking for “PLAYERS” (all in capital letters) to record 50 hours of playback on a Sony PlayStation 5 and appreciate their experience.
Don’t worry if you don’t have a PlayStation5: you will receive it (which you can keep for yourself) as part of your “paycheck”. In fact, here’s a look at the entire package:
- Brand New PlayStation 5 (PS5) with Ultra HD Blu-ray Drive
- 1000 USD
- Optional appearance on the WhistleOut YouTube channel to discuss the entire experience.
But you will need a 4K gaming capable TV (HDMI capable) and a reliable internet connection to carry out your duties.
The person selected for the role will have to play at least 50 hours of video games on the PlayStation 5, and then answer a few questions about the time spent on the console. They will need to pay attention to details such as online and offline interactions, comparisons with previous generations, download speeds, and new features.
How to apply for a vacancy
If this sounds like a job to you, you’re going to want to tackle it: Apps close at 11:59 pm ET on December 21, 2020 (that is, this Monday). To apply, you must be 18 years of age or older and are eligible to work in the United States.
The app is pretty simple: you just have to fill out two quick online forms here , one of which requires you to explain why you are the perfect person for the job in up to 100 words.
The winner will be announced on December 22, 2020, live on YouTube at 4PM EST. The winner will also be contacted by email after the announcement and will have seven days to accept or reject the job offer.
