How to Stream Amazon Luna Games on Android
Amazon Luna cloud gaming service is now available for Android in the US, adding yet another way to play console-quality games from anywhere on your smartphone. Using Luna on Android is straightforward, but there are a few requirements you need to meet before getting started.
First, you need a compatible phone. Luna only works on select devices running Android 9 or higher, including:
- OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7 Pro 5G, 7T, 7T Pro, 7T Pro 5G 8, 8 Pro, Nord
- Pixel 4XL, 4A, 4A 5G, 5
- Samsung Galaxy S10, S10 Plus, S20, S20 Plus, S20 Ultra, Note 10, Note 10 Plus, Note 20, Note 20 Ultra
Amazon says it will support more smartphones in the future. If you don’t own any of the phones listed above, you can play on Windows, Mac, iPhone, iPad, and Fire TV devices .
You will need to install the Chrome browser with your compatible phone. Luna doesn’t have a dedicated mobile app, but instead accesses games through a browser – which is how it could have been launched on iOS – and the Android version only works in Chrome. Luna also requires stable Wi-Fi or mobile data. Amazon recommends using 5 GHz networks for the best possible connection; you will need a download speed of at least 10 Mbps.
You also need to connect a Bluetooth controller to your Luna gaming device. Luna supports the Amazon Luna controller, PlayStation 4 DualShock 4, and Xbox One controller.
And of course, you need a Luna subscription. The moon is currently in Early Access, but you can request an invitation here . The service offers a partial subscription model where you can subscribe to “channels” from specific publishers, but the only two options are Amazon’s Luna Plus channel for $ 6 a month or Ubisoft Plus channel for $ 15 a month.
With these requirements in mind, here’s how to use Luna on Android:
- Open Chrome on your Android phone and go to amazon.com/luna.
- Add Amazon Luna to your mobile device when prompted.
- Launch the Luna web app from your phone’s app launcher screen.
- Sign in to your Amazon account and follow the onscreen instructions.
