8 Ways to Teach Your Child to Read More

Not only do many children stop reading for pleasure around the age of 9 , we are also in the midst of a pandemic that has brought much of their learning to virtual space. This makes many parents and educators worry about the possibility of a ” COVID slideoccurring when some children fall behind academically – even more than during the more typical summer slide. One of the best activities kids can do right now is reading, reading, and reading again, but getting them to do this is often easier said than done.

Some children practically grow up in the corner alone, with their faces buried in a book. But others would rather do anything other than read one more sentence than is absolutely necessary for school. For those children who resist reading, a few extra tricks can go a long way in helping them develop a love of reading.
