Try Cloud Gaming With Stadia’s Free to Play Destiny 2

A year after its launch, Google Stadia has finally released its first publicly available free game, and it’s a good game: Destiny 2 .

This is the same free version of Destiny 2 that has been available on other platforms since June 2019, including Stadia for paid subscribers, but you can now play it on Stadia without spending a dime. This is a pretty big deal; Previously, you had to either pay to access the Stadia subscription library or buy the game at full price through the service. Early adopters also had to buy a Stadia-enabled device and controller, which was quite expensive . Thankfully, Stadia support has expanded to Chromecast Ultra, PCs, and many Android phones and Chromebooks , and works with several third-party controllers. There is even a way to bypass touch controls for mobile users .

The free version of Destin y 2 only includes base content from the original Destiny 2 – and none of its DLC expansions. If you want them, you’ll have to buy Destiny 2: The Collection and the recent Beyond Light expansion. Also, the stadia version does not support cross-platform play, and free users are limited to 1080p mode. Members paying ten dollars a month can play in 4K, although the actual resolution of your gameplay will depend on the quality of your internet.

It doesn’t cost anything that Microsoft’s cloud streaming service and Nvidia’s GeForce Now also let you play Destiny 2 on the go, but the Microsoft app requires a $ 15 monthly Game Pass membership, and the GeForce $ 5 a month (or you can play for free with hour sessions. limits). However, the game is free to play on Stadia with unlimited play time.

If you’re curious about Destiny 2 and don’t have gaming hardware powerful enough to play it natively, free streaming via Stadia is a great way to give the game a try. It’s also a great opportunity for anyone who doesn’t know Stadia or cloud streaming to try the service at no cost. Just go to the Stadia homepage and create a new account to get started.
