How to Get an Endless Supply of Free Coasters

I recently went shopping for furniture and found that when you go to real, fancy furniture stores (and not to Swedish DIY stores), the sales reps are really trying to force fabric samples on you.

Returning home with a stack of leather and fabric squares, I laid them out on the table and thought, “What should I do with all this?”

Suddenly it came to me. As I drank tea, looking at the samples, I … wait for it … put the mug on the sample . This is clearly just a coaster. Free slide. It might not be as durable and the leather might not hold up to multiple uses with a hot mug, but it was free, so who cares!

The process is simple: go to a good furniture store that can customize your upholstery. Sit on the sofas and say, “I’m really not sure if this matches the energy of my space. My grandmother Eames’s chair looks more like a walnut, and this oak just doesn’t work. ” Then ask the vendor if they have fabric samples you can take home.

You can get an assortment of fabrics in different colors to create a set, or any skin tone the company offers. If you don’t want to go to a regular store during this time, many furniture companies offer free samples online:

Then, for some real fantasy, you can go to the kitchen and bathroom showroom to see if you can get your hands on samples of their stone countertops. A set of marble coasters costs $ 30! But with some finagling in the stone warehouse, you can easily get four marble squares for free. Now go ahead and enjoy this endless supply of little patches to rest on for drinks. You are enlightened.
