Hide Your Mac Touchbar With This Inexpensive App

If you’ve ever gotten tired of looking at the Mac’s Touch Bar, there is hope. We talked earlier about the various methods you can use to disable it or disable it entirely , but the best solution still costs around $ 8. Now there is a new app that promises to use the same approach for a quarter of the price. And it’s easy to use.
To get rid of the Touch Bar, which includes disabling it and making sure that accidentally tapping it there won’t do anything, check out Hide My Bar . It’s a lightweight app that you can’t purchase from the Mac App Store, but it comes with a 10-day free trial, so you can try it out to make sure it works well for your needs.
Download and install, and the app icon will reside on your Mac’s menu bar (after you also allow the app to “control your computer” through the accessibility menu in your security and privacy settings). While this is usually an action that you should think twice about when an app asks you for such permission, it is also the only way Hide My Bar can work wonders.
From there, all you have to do is launch the application, open its settings, and configure it to launch whenever you log into your system. After that, just double-tap the Command key to hide and show the Touch Bar.
If you find that you are missing a few of the touchbar controls when you go to hide them on your Mac, Hide My Bar even has the ability to virtually recreate some of them. Turn on Show Basic Menu Controls in your preferences and you can click the Hide My Panel icon to display virtual buttons for screen brightness, keyboard brightness, and volume, including a mute button.
I didn’t think I would like Hide My Bar the way I do, especially since I prefer free apps whenever possible. For the price of inexpensive French fries, however, Hide My Bar does a great job with its one job: getting rid of the touchpad when you don’t want to mess with it, and rebuilding it when you’re ready. to be friends again.
