20 Things to Look Out for Instead of a Presidential Debate

Look, we are far from propagating political apathy ahead of “The Most Important Choices of Our Lives,” but take this as permission not to watch today’s first presidential debate between Joe Biden and Donald Trump . If you don’t want to tune in to see if you notice that the integrity of the American political system is eroding in real time, there is no reason to watch. You’ve almost certainly already decided who you’re going to vote for, and the fact that these two aging guys – neither of whom are elegant speakers – stabbing each other for tax fraud and encroaching dementia will not change that. Even if one of them manages to say something significant that actually reveals a previously unknown political position (which is unlikely), in a few seconds it will be on all social networks. We’ve been marinating on bad news all year. Take the pain out of yourself and watch something else instead (assuming you’ve already registered to vote – or have already voted by mail; if you haven’t voted yet, this is the best way to pass the time). Here are some tips, any of which will be much better choices for your mental health.
