16 Customizable IOS 14 Home Screens to Inspire Your Inner Geek

Even though this feature has been around for a while, many people use the launch of iOS 14 to trick the various pages of their iPhone and customize their app icons. This is all thanks to the iOS 14 app library, which basically lets you hide your icons a lot more than before, and some clever use of the Shortcuts app.

Here’s how it works: you move your apps from pages to your app library and instead create shortcuts to launch each individual app. In other words, launch shortcuts and click +> Add Action> Scripts> Open Application , and then click Select to select the application you want to use to open the shortcut.

Once you’ve clicked forward to name the shortcut (ideally the name of the app you want to launch), you can click the three-dot icon on the shortcut, click the three-dot icon again , which will reappear , and then click on ” Add to home screen. ” Then, you click the icon below “Name and Home Screen Icon” to change it to a photo or file on your device.

Of course, this is a laborious, but quite simple task. The hardest part of the process is coming up with a cool design. To help, I’ve rounded up some of the most outrageous, interesting, and artsy iPhone tweaks I’ve seen this weekend. If you have one that you are particularly proud of, drop me a link to the image in the comments. Be sure to highlight any identifying information if you are worried about such things.

(Plus, how long Apple will allow it is anyone’s guess. I’ve seen enough porn-themed versions of these “custom” app icons for any Apple executive to have a heart attack.)
