Use This Map to Find Out About Travel Restrictions on Buses and Trains

Over the past six months, discussions regarding travel options with COVID have mainly focused on flight safety and return travel. But what then do people who travel mostly by train or bus do? We are not talking about safety issues on public transport (although this is important to consider), but about long-distance travel on Amtrak, Greyhound, Megabus and various regional bus companies.

This raises many questions: is it safe? How does this work with various government travel restriction policies? Buses and trains back to regular timetables? To help us meet these new challenges, the team at Wanderu , a ground travel booking platform, has compiled an interactive map and other resources with up-to-date travel and bus information during COVID-19. Here’s what you need to know.

Map and other resources

Like other travel sites and companies , Wanderu has created an interactive map that allows users to click on a state to inquire about COVID-related travel restrictions (if any). There are also maps that do the same for the provinces of Canada and European countries. All information from the map is also available in the form of a list right below.

But what makes this particular resource unique is a little further down the page where you will find travel and bus related information about change and cancellation policies for companies in North America, face mask policies and cleaning protocols implemented by each company. trip protection ; and a list of carriers that are currently in service.

So train and bus travel has become normal? Not quite so, according to Vander :

Although some bus and train operators have not been on the road since mid-March, most carriers have resumed operations. However, due to reduced travel demand, most of the currently operating bus and rail carriers operate on a limited schedule.

Finally, there is a page that provides contact information for all national and regional bus and rail services, in case you need to contact them directly.
