What’s on at Disney + in October 2020
It’s been almost a year since Baby Yoda (not his – her? – real name) first graced our screens at the end of the Disney + Star Wars spin-off “Mandalorian” premiere series, and the Internet has never been the same. With the pandemic escalating, economic turmoil, political turmoil, and elections that could decide the fate of the American experiment, one thing remains unchanged: we all love this little green dude (floating in a capsule ). Thanks to the creator for seeing more of him soon – provided that we can live until October 30th. It is then that B. Yoda and his kind, brilliant Mandalorian friend will return for another season of adventure and delicious friendship – two unnamed souls together against an entire galaxy far, far away.The trailer promises a lot more intrigue and action that has earned the series a legion of fans, spurred Disney’s streaming service, spawned countless memes, and received an unexpected Emmy nod for Best Drama Series . But that’s not all you get for your $ 6.99 this month. Disney is also launching another original series: a new adaptation of Tom Wolfe’s novel The Right Stuff, from writer Will Staples and sponsors / producers such as National Geographic and Leonardo DiCaprio. The first film adaptation of the book, a 1983 film directed by Philip Kaufman, was approved shortly after release, so it will be interesting to see if this new, longer version can improve it. Olaf Stance won’t want to miss Once Upon a Time in a Snowman. (October 23), which tells the origin story of the friendly nature freak Frozen . And speaking of nature, the streamer is also releasing Meet the Chimpanzee (October 16), a NatGeo documentary series set in one of the largest nature reserves in the world. And if you want to have a good cry,Clouds (Oct.16 ) – the true story of the late singer-songwriterZach Sobich’s battle with cancer – seems like an inspiring sure bet in the style of The Fault in Our Stars. …
