Combine Cherry Cola and Sherry to Make Cherry Coca Cola.
This is not the cocktail that I was going to make this morning, but in the end it turned out to be exactly the cocktail that I needed. I originally planned to make a sherry shoemaker, but I am completely out of oranges and I cannot go for oranges, because in all the news, I was advised to stay indoors. (AndI won’t go out until it’s over!)
Luckily, I’m a resourceful person and good at taste, so I was able (pretty quickly) to turn around and invent a delicious new cocktail called Scherry Coke, a blend of sherry and cherry cola that tastes like cherry cola and makes you drunk like sherry.
Actually, the drink is not only the taste of Cherry Coke. The Sherry Fino (which I had in the fridge) has a nice almond flavor that you probably know goes very well with cherries. This combination tastes very good and I’m a genius if I thought about it, especially considering how stressed I am.
If we were forced to categorize this drink, I think we would have to call it highball, which is fine because I really love highballs . Technically, these are just two ingredients, but you can add bitterness if you really want a third. A classic highball ratio of two parts booze and three parts no booze will serve you well, but don’t be afraid of the 50/50 configuration. To make Scherry Coke you will need:
- 2 ounces fino sherry
- 3 ounce cherry cola
- Bitters (I suppose? If need be?)
Fill a glass with ice and pour sherry and cherry cola over it. Add some bitter if you like. Stir it with a straw. Drink this.
