Watch Sesame Street and CNN’s Back to School Town Hall

Sesame Street and CNN are teaming up to meet all of our emotional needs this year, first with a virtual town hall dedicated to COVID-19 , then with a racist town hall , and now with a town hall as we have a return-to-school season with our young children during pandemics.

The 60-minute special, ABC Back to School, Family Hall on CNN / Sesame Street, will explore how to stay safe in the classroom and how to navigate hybrid and fully virtual learning. According to CNN, it will also “provide tools and information for families dealing with unique school conditions in the coronavirus era.” More details:

CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta and Host Erica Hill will moderate the hour. They will be joined by Sesame Street puppets and schoolchildren in a variety of learning environments: Elmo will be attending preschool for a week, Big Bird in hybrid learning, and Rosita completely remote. The trio will be joined by Abby Cadabby and her brother Rudy, Super Grover and other friends from Sesame Street, as well as Sesame Workshop vice president and Sesame Learning educational publisher Akimi Gibson.

The Town Hall will air at 10:00 am ET on Saturday, September 12. It will also air on CNN, CNN International and CNN en EspaƱol. It will be streamed live with no login required on CNN’s homepage and on mobile devices via CNN’s iOS and Android apps. It will also be viewable on CNNgo and available upon request to subscribers via cable / satellite systems and on CNN’s mobile apps.
