Dim Tweets You’ve Already Seen With This Browser Extension
Twitter’s insistence on showing tweets out of turn has been a long-standing complaint. Of course, there is an option that says your feed is displayed in chronological order, but it almost always resets back to Top Tweets view if you’re not following it.
Even if you’re lucky enough to keep the “recent tweets” toggle on, chances are multiple accounts you follow will retweet the same people, not to mention all the advertisements and “suggested” tweets from people behind that you don’t follow. up site.
Seeing the same tweets over and over is just one of the many complaints I could make against Twitter, but this is by far the most annoying one for me. Fortunately, this is now one of the easiest ways to fix it. Like many of Twitter’s other downsides, a handy third-party browser extension called Just Arrival makes it easy to spot the newest stuff in your timeline by obscuring the tweets you’ve already seen.
Please note that this extension requires permission to read some of the tweet data, but according to the Just Arrival description in the Chrome Store, “no data is collected, no information ever leaves your browser.” The add-on developer, Arunmoji , also confirms to The Next Web that no data is transmitted or stored remotely; it is only saved locally on your device and the cache is deleted once a day.
Just arrived is available for desktops for Google Chrome and Firefox (sorry mobile users) and it handles everything in the background after installing it.
The add-on notes which tweets are displayed in your timeline, and the next time you open Twitter (or refresh the page), the tweets you’ve already seen will be dimmed in your timeline and elsewhere on the site. It’s much easier to ignore faint tweets, but the effect only dims them slightly, so you can still read old tweets normally.
