What’s New on Netflix This Week of Aug 23, 2020

In this 39th month of an endless pandemic, I felt nostalgic for the platitudes of office life. The coronavirus started operating in New York around the same time I started working , which means that I have never worked in an office. In this sense, I understand that I am very lucky in many ways: working from home (or work in general) is a luxury that many do not have now. However: I have never met my colleagues face to face. I’ve never had to figure out who has the best candy in the workplace, who shouldn’t be used in the staff kitchen at lunchtime, or when is the best time to go to the bathroom. At this moment, even watching the unfavorable events in the workplace of Retsuko, the Red Panda, becomes warm and nostalgic. * About yes, Aggretsuko , this Sanrio show with poignancy returns to Netflix on August 27 to see the third season of workplace unrest, romantic turmoil and general malaise in adulthood. Somehow, the series about an anthropomorphic red panda doing soul-destroying work in an office in Tokyo and coping with work stress, coworkers’ drama and endless annoyance (not swinging to death metal at a karaoke bar) seems like a balm right now. – the promise that one day we will all return to normal life, I mean the fear of going to the office, not the longing to return to normal life.
