You Should Definitely Add Corn Milk to Your Coffee.

I found a new reason to get up in the morning and that reason is sweetened condensed corn milk. “What the hell is this?” you can ask. This is exactly what it looks like – sweetened condensed milk infused with the magnificence of corn.

Look, I know I have a reputation for being too big a corn lover. I know this because I receive angry letters about this , but shout at me as much as you like, I will not be scared away! Every morning I will sing a song about delicious corn flavored milk, energized by a corn milk latte. (If you have to criticize corn milk, please don’t use the word “strange.” “Weird” is the most boring word you can use as an insult. Corn-flavored sweets are very popular all over the world and they are called “strange”. strange “just shows how out of this world you are.)

Be that as it may, I didn’t invent corn milk; Jeffrey Morgenthaler, my friend and oft-acclaimed cocktail- maker, developed it from a Brazilian drink calledBatida de Milho Verde . Jeff’s iced sweet corn was supposed to make it onto the menu at Stumptown’s, but – due to a bias against corn in drinks – it didn’t.

Luckily, Jeff has shared his sweet corn milk coffee recipe on his website , and he’s absolutely right (as is his chocolate chip cookie recipe ). Corn milk tastes like the milk left over from a bowl of corn chocolate, except it is more toasted and rougher, and the milk is sweetened and condensed (and therefore richer, sweeter, and more decadent). I am drinking it in my cold coffee right now and I feel happy, or at least happy around.

To make sweet corn milk, all you have to do is mix one can of whipped corn (a normal-sized can, not a miniature can) with one can of sweetened condensed milk, then strain. You now have a sweet corn flavored coffee modifier to brighten up your morning. (It’ll keep in the fridge for a week, but I know mine won’t last more than four days.) You can use Jeff’s Sweet Corn Milk Coffee recipe or add corn milk to any iced coffee you usually make. … Then add it to your tea. Then use it to make ice cream without whipping. Then drizzle it over the cake. Then eat with a spoon. You have run out of corn milk, which is sad, but you can earn even more.
