There Is Still Time to Claim the Missing $ 500 Dependents Incentive

While many Americans are pushing for Congress to approve the next aid package – and the second stimulus test – some people still don’t pay their first payment . Fortunately, the IRS is actively working on ways to tackle this problem. Last week, the IRS announced a new registration period for missed incentive payments – the so-called Economic Impact Payments or EIPs. People who receive federal benefits now have another option to claim the missing $ 500 for Dependent Benefit.

You may be eligible if you receive federal benefits such as Social Security income, supplemental insurance income, railroad retirement benefits, or Veterans’ Compensation and Pension. The IRS will make an additional payment of $ 500 per child under the age of 17 by mid-October.

You can send information through the tool to persons who did not submit documents IRS.gov, from 15 August to 30 September. The non-filing tool will ask for your child’s name, social security number or tax identification number, and their relationship to you or your spouse.

You must apply through the non-filing tool by the September 30th deadline – otherwise, you will not be able to receive the $ 500 dependent payment until next year.

“Given the extremely high demand for EIP assistance, we continue to prioritize and increase resource allocation to eligible people, including those who can expect to receive some of their payment,” IRS Commissioner Chuck Rettig said in a statement.

If you have already submitted information about your child through the non-dealer tool after May 5, you do not need to take further action. The IRS advises that you will automatically receive the missing payment in October along with a payment confirmation letter in the mail. The money should proceed in the same way as you received your first incentive payment. You can check the status of your payment using the Get My Payment tool, which also shows you how you will receive money. The IRS updates this tool once a day at night, so you don’t need to check it more than once a day.
