Brighten Your Life With String Lights

After spending a couple of months in isolation, I started looking for ways to improve our living space in small ways. If I will have to be at home all the time, I would like to want to be here. One of the best things I have done, a little thing that has brought me more happiness than I expected, was to hang lanterns around the fence in my backyard.

When I searched the internet for toys for my son, I stumbled across the lights at Five Lower, which at $ 5 a box seemed like a worthwhile investment to me. (My kit looks more like the one pictured above, but this version is still in stock .)

To learn more about the backyard updates, watch the video below:

We live in a twin house in the old East Pennsylvania area. The yards are small and close to each other, so if we don’t play outside with our son, my husband and I didn’t spend much time there. But now that the sun starts to set and we turn on the lights, the yard seems larger and even, I dare say, festive.

We’ve spent more time outdoors in the past few months with happy hour drinks and music played through a Bluetooth speaker than we’ve probably spent in the seven years we’ve lived in this house combined.

If you don’t have a fence (or backyard), you can recreate the same atmosphere in a different space. Light up your terrace, balcony or apartment, or heck, your living room. Whatever space you want to spend in the evenings, you can warm it up with a few lights.
