How to Watch Oprah’s Town Hall on Racial Injustice
Adding her voice to others discussing racial injustice right now, Oprah Winfrey is set to hold a two-day town hall meeting called “Where Are We Going From Here?” aired on June 9 and 10. The program will air on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network, as well as all 18 other US Discovery networks, including Discovery, HGTV, ID, Food Network, and TLC.
But don’t worry if you don’t have cable – both town hall nights will also be streaming free on the Watch OWN and Discovery Family apps, as well as on OWN’s YouTube , Facebook and Instagram channels. The show will air both nights at 9:00 pm ET.
The purpose of the in-depth conversations is to offer insights and tangible plans to answer the questions “What is important now?”, “What is important next?” and “Where are we going from here?” Guests include politician Stacy Abrams, journalist Charles M. Blow, Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, Academy Award-nominated filmmaker Ava DuVernay, professor and writer Jennifer Eberhardt (author of Addiction), journalist and Pulitzer Prize founder. “I had private conversations with friends and opinion leaders about what will happen next and where we will go next,” Winfrey said in a statement . “I thought it would be interesting and useful to draw the country’s attention to their ideas, concerns and comments.”
Winfrey joins others, such as President Barack Obama and Sesame Street residents, who recently held virtual town hall meetings to discuss racial injustice and the need for police reform. “Where do we go from here?” The Town Hall will air on June 9 and 10 at 9:00 pm ET.
