Buy Your Own Custom Stamps by June 10

The United States Postal Service (USPS) is in trouble. Now that companies – and everyone else – rely on email rather than paper, their mail volume has dropped by about a third . On top of that, the president has threatened to veto any stimulus package that includes money to bail out the USPS.

So how can you help? Buy stamps! At the moment, the entire USPS budget comes from the sale of stamps , so this is a way to directly contribute to this. Better yet, before Wednesday, June 10th, you can customize your own stamps.

Fans of Last Week Tonight With John Oliver are likely familiar and may have bought the show’s custom brands . But as it turns out, you don’t have to put on a late night show to get your stamps.

Thanks to Claudia Dawson of Recomendo, we now know that anyone can upload their own photos to make custom stamps. While she was at PhotoStamps.com buying John Oliver stamps, she couldn’t help but notice the custom photo print option on the site and ordered some of her dogs and cats . (And yes, they are both charming and dignified.)

If that sounds like something you’re interested in, you better act quickly: USPS completes a customized mailing program; The last chance to purchase PhotoStamps is Wednesday 10 June . This includes any saved custom stamps that you previously created and ordered through PhotoStamps. Custom stamps will remain valid after June 10th – after that we simply cannot order new ones.

Custom stamps are slightly more expensive than regular stamps you buy directly through the USPS: They cost $ 25.99 per sheet of 20 premium stamps . So go ahead – get orders for stamps with the image of yourself, your pets, your historical heroes, who otherwise would not have been able to get on the stamp – the possibilities are endless.
