How to Participate in Conversations Across America Monday
Tomorrow is Memorial Day. While the celebrations are likely to be slightly different this year, CBS is trying to keep one tradition alive : drum roll.
Tomorrow at 15:00 the organizers ask everyone to play tap. Similar to the applause of medical professionals, the idea is that the streets will be filled with an iconic military tune.
The event is the brainchild of CBS News “On the Road” correspondent Steve Hartman and former Air Force bugle Jari Villanueva.
If you want to get involved, just go outside tomorrow at 15:00 with your horn, horn, trumpet or ukulele. You can find sheet music here .
And if you want your performance to be available to the masses, CBS is collecting footage of people playing across the country and plans to show some of them on CBS Evening News on Tuesday.
