Tactile Touch Is the Most Underrated IOS Feature

We all need to use tactile sensations on our iPhones. It’s simply the easiest way to quickly access common tasks, from creating reminders to switching between Bluetooth devices. In the video above, I talk about how I use tactile touch every day.

Heavy Duty Control Center

The Control Center in iOS is already very useful, but a tactile touch reveals a lot of functions hidden under the hood. Most of the icons in the control center have additional functionality when tapped (is that a verb?). Everything from adjusting the brightness of the flashlight to quickly changing Wi-Fi and activating Night Shift can be done without even leaving the control center.

Application shortcuts

Many apps support tactile touch shortcuts. Tapping on an application such as Weather or Twitter opens a submenu with general tasks. I use this all the time for things like quickly adding tasks to ToDoist, instantly launching Google searches, or scanning documents in Notes. Be sure to try tactile typing in all of your favorite apps. You might be surprised to find some really handy shortcuts.

Input cursor

I mentioned this in a previous episode of Quick Fix, but it’s worth repeating: using a tactile touch on the space bar is simply the easiest way to move that pesky little cursor for typing.
