How to Change Your Username on Major Social Networks
Your social media username is often a reflection of your personality, but what do you do if you change and want your username to change with you?
While some social services, including Snapchat, do not allow you to change your username after creating an account, many others do. In some cases, you can change your username as often as you like, while others set time limits. For example, TikTok only allows you to change your username every 30 days.

Your username or Twitter handle is a 15 character name that starts with the @ symbol.
In general, it’s always a good idea to choose a pen that you want to use consistently, simply because that name is how other people will find you and contact you in the service. - Log into Twitter on your desktop and click the More button at the bottom of the menu on the left.
- Click Settings & Privacy.
- In the Account section, update the username field with the name of your choice (Twitter will let you know if available).

Your TikTok username can be easily changed in your account settings, but it’s worth noting that you’re only allowed to update it every 30 days, so you’ll be stuck with which one you choose for at least a month. Here’s how to make changes:
- Open the TikTok app and make sure you’re signed in

- Delete your old username and enter a new one.

Instagram makes it very easy to change your username through the mobile app. To make changes, you first need to download the app to your Android or iOS device and sign in.
- Click the avatar button (that tiny version of your profile picture) in the bottom right corner of the page.
- Click Change Profile in the middle of the page below your bio.
- Tap the username field and enter the new handle you want to use.
- Click Finish .
