Duplicate Your Items in Animal Crossing Because Nothing Matters

I don’t think you can cheat in Animal Crossing: New Horizons . Or rather, I feel no guilt for taking advantage of the game’s quirks to equip my solo island just the way you want it. From time travel to turnip exchanges , there are many methods you can use to get around the game’s slow, methodical designs, including a completely new duplication method that allows you to clone as many items as you like.

Again, do I feel bad? No. Do whatever you want in Animal Crossing ; If you get bored after a month in the game because you cheated on Crown Island and you have nothing else to do, it’s up to you. (Thanks to all the wealth I’ve amassed on various trips to Stalk Market, I feel the same way. Why did you even add this to the game, Nintendo?)

There is no guarantee that the hack you will use to duplicate elements will work by the time you read this, but it was supposedly working at the time of this writing (version 1.2.0 a). To get started, you need a few things:

  • 2×1 table
  • 2×2 table
  • 2×1 item for duplication (items of different sizes will not work)

You will enter the first room of your house and place both tables side by side in the center. You will place the item you want to duplicate on the smaller table, select it using the “L” button on the selector and try to place it perpendicular to the larger table. It will rotate horizontally. Continue doing this while walking around your large table. Then exit and re-enter the room, and you’re done – the duplicated item. You will need to enter host mode to pick it up, but it’s free.

Embarrassed? I would also. Fortunately, this video shows all these steps in a very simple and straightforward way. (Also, how do people understand these things?)

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have … uh … accessories for … oh, who am I kidding. I have Oarfishes that need more friends. One friendly warning though: While I doubt Nintendo will start blocking accounts, if you take advantage of this duplication hack, try it at your own risk. Alternatively, you can hurry up as I bet Nintendo is preparing a patch for this right now.
