How to Practically Attend Met Today’s Home Gala

The Metropolitan Opera’s annual gala may not take place in person this year, but like many other major events, the organizers have decided to move the event online, and you are invited this year.

The Home Gala kicks off at 1:00 pm ET today and is hosted by General Manager Peter Gelb in New York and Music Director Yannick Nezet-Séguin in Montreal.

The gala will feature over 40 top Met artists, all performing live from their homes via Skype. If you would like to join, you can tune in directly from the Met website .

The start time was chosen at 1:00 pm because it is traditional for The Met to begin. If you prefer to watch at night, you can access the show on demand until 6:30 pm ET on Sunday.
