How Should Airlines Change After the Pandemic?
We’re heading into another week of travel restrictions, quarantines, and more creative ways to stay comfortable at home 24/7. However, as hard as it may be to believe, eventually we will return to something like normal life. Over time, we will fly again, whether for work or play. But what will flying in the world look like after the pandemic. Of course, we all know that air travel has never been a smooth process full of frustration and inefficiency. So while the industry pauses, we ask ourselves – and you – how can we change it for the better?
Let’s think big: How would you create the perfect flight experience? What drives you crazy to fly and what you never want to deal with again?
What procedures should be changed? Who should sit down first? How long do airlines have to wait for boarding between flights?
What’s the worst in flight and how to fix them? Is it a legroom problem? Terrible and expensive food? Spotty and expensive Wi-Fi?
How can flying be less harmful to your health? Should airlines be required to completely disinfect aircraft between flights? Can they suggest healthier snacks? How about improving the stale air in the cabin with a drop of essential oils in the ventilation system?
Should airlines introduce more express flights and / or more options with fewer connections?
What specific practices adopted by one airline should become the norm? Does JetBlue offer what you’d like to see in American? Does one carrier have a boarding process that beats all others? Which airline gives everyone an action plan?
What about airports? Will it take longer for TSA and security?
