Make a Stroller With Whatever Brandy You Have

I’ve been making a lot of sour lately, simply because it works with just about any alcohol and doesn’t require a ton of ingredients. The booze, citrus fruits, and sweetener make up the whole drink, but things get a little more interesting when you add syrup for more drinks.

The stroller, which uses Curacao as its sugar source, is perhaps the most classic example of this. Usually it is made from cognac, but since liquor stores are not the most important thing, I don’t have that. But I have a pear brandy. Guess what? It worked just fine. If you have another brandy, that will work too.

Heck, you could probably get by with a slightly different orange liqueur (but I wouldn’t use citrus vodka). I only have dry curaƧao, which is not as sweet as the name suggests, and it makes a very good drink. I’m talking about the fact that this is a rather gentle cocktail format. To make it you will need:

  • 2 ounce brandy
  • 3/4 ounce curacao (increase to 1 ounce if using dry)
  • 3/4 ounce lemon juice

Add everything to a cocktail shaker and shake over ice until very cold. Strain into a chilled compartment-like glass.
