Take a Virtual Trip to the Disney World
If you had told your kids a few weeks ago that everyone was going to GO TO THE DISNEY WORLD, and then added the warning “from the comfort of your own home,” there would likely be a riot. But as we all know, everything has changed. The standards have been lowered. Now riding Splash Mountain from your living room couch might not seem like such a bad idea.
We’ve previously written about how YouTube videos can be used to prepare children for potentially hazardous events, such as roller coaster rides. But you can also use the same videos to make your way through the Magic Kingdom without taking a step, complaining about the length of the queue, or dealing with an accident.
As Christina Marfis reminds us at Scary Mommy , there are entire channels on YouTube that provide videos of riders at Disney parks:
This means that anyone with a device and an internet connection can experience the magic. Better yet, if you have a VR headset or smartphone mount. The videos then become completely immersive, as if you were back in Disneyland before the world was almost completely blacked out.
Is it the same as a trip? As someone who has been to Disneyland several times, I can categorically state that this is not the case. But are some of the travel videos surprisingly satisfying? They are like that – especially now that the thought of being in such a germinal place, among a crowded crowd, seems like such a bizarre concept from a more innocent era.
So where do you start? You don’t have to plan your day according to the FastPass schedule, and you can navigate back and forth through the park in seconds. As I write this andPirates of the Caribbean is my favorite trip, let’s start with this.
All these people! Touching all surfaces! And then selflessly touch their faces! 2019 was indeed an easier time. It was fun, but SplashMountain came to my mind; let’s go there further.
If your kids enjoy a little thrill (but not too much!),The Barnstormer Roller Coaster is a good option. I chose this video because it is a dark rainy day on Disney, the park is almost deserted, and it seems to me …
If you prefer more people and more sunshine, try theSlinky Dog Dash roller coaster. Yes, I know , this is a ride in a completely different park (Hollywood Studios). Does it matter? No, there are no rules here!
Is it time foran icy ride? Yes, I thought so. Come on, let’s go to Epcot; it’s right here:
Okay, I wasn’t even going to click theAvatar (Animal Kingdom) ride video because it’s such an incredible personal experience that I was sure I would be disappointed. I was not. If I am physically unable to participate in this trip right now, at least I have the following:
If you’re not enough, the LMG Vids YouTube channel has playlists of attractions from a variety of theme parks, including all Disney parks in Orlando and California, Legoland California, Knott’s Berry Farm, and Disneylands in Tokyo and Hong Kong.
