As parents everywhere are in need of whatever help we can get to keep our kids somewhat motivated to learn, TIME is the latest company to step up and offer help with TIME for Kids, a free digital library.

Several digital editions of TIME for Kids (and financial literacy magazine Your $) are now available through the end of the school year. The magazine has been prepared for four grades: K-1; 2; 3-4; and 5-6.

Parents can read sample articles for each class group and sign up for a free subscription for their kids here . I enrolled my son in the library for grades 3-4, and the most recent issue, March 20, contains age-appropriate information on coronavirus, including Q&A with an infectious disease specialist, and an article on what school closings mean for students of different countries. country and an explanation of how the economy suffered.

For kids who are already concerned about COVID-19 , you can skip this episode – there are several other non-coronavirus-related issues. But for kids who would like to better understand what’s going on, Time for Kids presents the topic in a calm and balanced way.

Introducing Time for Kids to kids can also provide an opportunity to talk about how to identify reputable and trustworthy news sources and why it matters.
