Is This Viral TikTok the Best Fast Food Hack?

Have you ever ordered a 10-piece McNugget chicken and a large drink and found that you had too few hands to adequately carry, swallow and dunk? Well, TikTok’er @MakeupByPablo recently posted a genius McDonald’s hack that we decided to test.

According to Pablo, you open a box of chunks, separate the opening seam that connects the top and bottom of the box, and pull it over a straw in a large drink. Then you have one side for the McNuggets, one side for the fries and sauces, and your straw is readily available in a “cocoon or whatever”.

But is this how it works? To find out, we went to McDonald’s and got some orders of McNuggets, fries and drinks. But we didn’t stop there. Surely there must be more creative ways to use all of the packaging that comes with Happy Meal.

So we tested a few other fast food tricks, like using a cardboard container to create a gorgeous soft light for photographs. Was my skin glowing? You tell me!

We also put a few sachets of sauce in the freezer to see if they make tiny ice packs. The results there were hotly debated in the Lifehacker offices. After we announced our verdict on the matter, our editors insisted that frozen ketchup bags would be the perfect remedy for under-eye puffiness. Since we haven’t tested this on camera, I recommend you toss a few bags in the freezer and test this method yourself. Good luck and bon appetit!
