How to Watch the 2020 Academy Awards Tonight Without Cable

Oscar tonight! The Joker , the most award-winning movie at the event, won 11 awards. He would tackle the 1917 film The Irishman , Little Women , Marriage Story , The Parasite and other films to earn the coveted Best Picture title.

For the second consecutive year this year, the awards ceremony will also be held without a presenter.

The 92nd Academy Awards begins at 8:00 pm ET / 5:00 pm PT at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, California and will air on ABC.

If you want to watch, the simplest and cheapest solution is to simply tune in to ABC on your TV. Anyone with a cable should get their local ABC station, and if you have a digital antenna, you can tune into the network for free without it.

If you don’t have a TV or will be away from TV during the show, you still have a decent amount of options in the form of streaming services.

Locast is a free streaming service currently operating in 16 cities. If you are lucky enough to live in one of them, then you can stream ABC on its service for free.

All major streaming services offer free trials, so if you haven’t tried them yet, you can watch the award-winning shows for free during this trial period and cancel your subscription before you actually have to pay for it.

Worth noting: Not all streaming services offer ABC in all areas. If you are signing up for the service specifically to watch today’s Oscars, then you will need to confirm that your chosen streaming service offers ABC in your area before the show is scheduled to begin.

Sling TV, YourTube TV, AT&T TV Now, and Hulu with Live TV offer ABC in select markets. If you’re the type who usually forgets to cancel your free trial, then your cheapest option is Sling TV, which starts at $ 30 / month.

YouTube TV and AT&T TV Now are $ 50 / month after the trial ends, and Hulu is $ 55 / month after the free trial.
