How to Find and Unsubscribe From the Instagram Accounts You Interact With the Least

Maybe once a month when I scroll through Instagram and bump into a post from someone I didn’t realize I was following in the first place.

In the early days on Instagram, there was a period when I followed almost everyone I met who had an account. Plus, there are always people you meet at a party or wedding that you follow and tag in a few photos, but after five years they no longer need or want to keep up.

In most cases, the people mentioned are not regular Instagram users, so the random post I came across may actually be their first since we decided to connect to the platform. This week, Instagram has made it much easier to find those people you don’t remember in the first place.

Now, in the Instagram app, you can tap Follow (from your profile page) and then see a list of the accounts that appear most often in your feed, as well as the accounts you interact with the least.

This “smallest” list can come in handy if you are trying to narrow down your subscription list. As part of this, you can easily identify accounts that do not post very often or messages that you do not like very much. Browsing through my own, I discovered a few brand accounts that I really enjoy following but don’t interact with, as well as a few random ones that I don’t remember why I signed up at all.

If you’re looking to clean up your Instagram account a bit, this might be an easy way to crop a bit.
