This Is the Cheapest Weekend to Travel in 2020

Weekend trips are fun, but can get quite expensive. Hotwire recently looked at historical hotel booking data to determine when the most affordable weekend travel dates are in 2020, and released a list of the most affordable hotel holidays for each month.

Surprisingly, actually, some of these affordable hotels actually drop on holiday weekends.

Here is his list of the cheapest travel weekend predictions:

• January 31 – February 2 (Groundhog Day)

• February 28 – March 1 (Leap Day)

• April 10-12

• May 8-10 (Mother’s Day)

• June 19-21 (Father’s Day)

• 3-5 July (4 July)

• 21-23 August

• September 4-6 (Labor Day)

• October 30 – November 1 (Halloween)

• November 27-29 (Thanksgiving)

• December 18-20

As with all “top” lists, your mileage can vary depending on where you travel. This weekend also counts the rate for the entire weekend (Fri-Sun). So while this weekend may be the best on average, it can still have a night or two, which is costly – it’s just offset by one more night, which is a theft.

All of this goes to show that if you are planning to travel for multiple weekends in 2020, you might consider scheduling a few for this weekend and booking soon. The further you can book a hotel room, the more affordable it will be.
