What’s in Store for and Out of Netflix in the Week of December 2, 2019

You’ve survived the holidays! You are back at work! Now there is nothing left to do but get lost in a haze of cider and spiked cookies and wake you up when 2020 comes! If you get up this week at some point, there is a lot of fun waiting for you on Netflix. Let’s dive in.

We have Tiffany Haddish on Tuesday with her special performance, which Netflix truly and truly describes as “bombastic,” Black Mitzvah. Everything will be better because she is good, and it is not every day that you can get a whole hour of her “lewd thinking”, unlike some other comedians, which I will not name . The real crime crime series Killer Confessions (Friday) looks like a spooky serial killer documentary destined to be a holiday classic.

Also on Friday we have Noah Baumbach’s latest film, A Marriage Story , in which Adam Driver and Scarlett Johansson are getting divorced. I watched this movie and loved it, mainly because of the divorce attorneys played by Laura Dern, Ray Liotta and Alan Alda. You’ve been warned: it’s intense. At a show I went to a few weeks ago, they were handing out napkins about Marriage Story , which was a little expensive, but you get the idea.
