All You Like Is Propaganda

A state-funded Russian propaganda agency is sowing discord in America through feeble-minded social media accounts, researchers at Clemson University say . These accounts, they claim, contain clichés of “touching” and “thought-provoking” content that sometimes go viral. Then they slip news that might be designed to “serve Russia’s interests by undermining American confidence in our institutions.” And the Americans love it, and they share it.

Russia is everywhere

In the Rolling Stone article, researchers mainly focus on a few popular Twitter accounts, but claim Russian propaganda accounts appear on “Instagram, Stitcher, Reddit, Google+, Tumblr, Medium, Vine, Meetup, and even Pokémon Go.” (Although not mentioned here, Facebook is obviously also infected .) No matter where you are on the Internet, someone will try to share some of the anti-American propaganda with you.

Sometimes these messages contain real lies. One of the posts of the now blocked “PoliteMelanie” says:

My cousin is studying sociology at the university. She and her classmates surveyed over 1,000 conservative Christians last week. “What would you do if you found out that your child is a homo sapiens?” 55% said they would give them up and force them to leave their homes.

This is an old anti-Christian urban legend; you’ll see him appear in places like this “satirical” Facebook post from the Atheist Advocate. The poll does not exist.

The immediate takeaway here: Don’t share “facts” from anonymous or unverified social media accounts, no matter how much those posts support your current beliefs and biases. There is no reason for these accounts to check the facts or research what they are sharing, and there is every reason to spread something that sounds good .

But there are deeper and harsher conclusions here. Sometimes propaganda messages publish real facts or opinions that many Americans have in good faith. Some of them are banal, like the praise for the charitable work of NFL player Warrick Dunn. Others, according to researchers Clemson, are designed to divide Americans with the truth or with fairly common opinions like “Joe Biden does not deserve our votes!”

If Russia controls these accounts, then Russia knows the truth can tear us apart. It is not only the Putin government that benefits from “undermining American confidence in our institutions.” Every American who is underserved or even abused by our institutions can benefit if the rest of America has less confidence in these institutions. Our establishments are rubbish! But they are spreading their propaganda.

America is everywhere

Propaganda is everywhere, coming from all the established powers in the world, especially in America. Social media has given normal people a voice in conversation, but most of us waste our voice promoting the same shit we’ve been fed for a century through the media.

The US government is openly publicizing on social media. He also engages in all kinds of media partnerships, imposing his narratives on you, working with reporters, celebrities and other organizations to spread beliefs such as “the police protect everyone,” “the military is needed,” and “your leaders know they are do ”and“ the rich deserve their money ”and“ America couldn’t be better ”.

Capitalism is everywhere

There is another name for propaganda that benefits one party at the expense of all the others, and that is advertising. Advertising exists to make people want what they don’t need. The internet runs on it. For this we sacrifice our privacy. We accept this as a necessary evil if we want to transmit any information in this world. But advertising never stops. He never says, “I’ve had enough.” He wants more, he wants more and louder. He wants to jump in front of the words you read. He wants to be your friend, he wants to be your news source, he wants to be your entertainment. He wants you to expand it to all of his followers for free. And you do it.

Everybody everywhere

Every message that hits your screen is either sent directly by an authority, or filtered through the thinking constraints that the authority has placed on you and everyone you know. All this propaganda in the microwave. And you can’t avoid it by going back to the media, which is also shit that has even more money behind it.

Clemson researchers argue that Russian propaganda is trying to overthrow Joe Biden. Biden’s social media supporters will use this statement to refer to every critic of Biden as a Russian agent. Their left-wing opponents will take advantage of this to reject Biden’s supporters as implacable hypocrites who should not be persuaded. Their opponents on the right will use this to reject the left as the losers in the struggle.

As our nation begins the annual celebration of the successful invasion of foreign lands by white Christians, I urge you to log out and spend time with your loved ones by birth and of your choice. And when you log in again, I urge you to be more careful with the messages you read and distribute. Think about who wants you to believe these messages and why.
