Set up a Toy Cleaning Station for Your Kids
My favorite activity for young children is doing what they are doing and solving another goal. For example, when they help you sort the laundry or “prepare” dinner with you. Children love hands-on activities and love to help. And this mom is scratching both of those itches with this simple toy wash station:
All you need is a plastic tub, a couple of small containers, water, dish soap, a sponge or rag, and a surface you don’t mind splashing soapy water on. Outside is probably your best bet for this activity, but if that’s not an option, throw a few towels in the hallway or on the bathroom floor – or use a couple of small tubs and put everything you need right in the tub.
As dayswithgrey notes, toys don’t have to be visibly dirty for kids to get in, but they could probably still use a good scrub.
