How to Use Pixel 4 Face Recognition on LastPass

Despite being so new, many third-party apps already support some of the unique features of the Pixel 4. One of those apps is one of our favorite password managers , LastPass, which supports the Pixel 4’s biometric unlocking capabilities.

Assuming you’ve already set up facial recognition data on your Pixel 4, LastPass users can access all of their saved apps and accounts with just their smiling mug, but first you’ll need to enable the setting in LastPass.

  1. Open the LastPass Android app .
  2. Tap the three dots icon.
  3. Click Settings, then Security.
  4. Scroll down and turn on “Use biometrics to unlock”.

If enabled, you will see a new message asking you to use your face when you sign in to an app or website synced with LastPass. Align your face and, once your phone recognizes you, click “Confirm” to login without a password.

Now, as convenient as it is, it would be an oversight not to mention that the Pixel 4’s facial recognition is much less secure than other phones. Google says it is looking for a fix, but it can take months before anything changes, so use this feature with caution, especially if it might be used by your password manager.
