What’s the Best Amateur Sport in Your City?

Not only can you play shuffleboard in Govanus, Brooklyn, but you can even join the league , as I learned from a friend who plays in the same league , even though it’s been a good 35 years before retirement. There are more obvious amateur sports in town: soccer in skinny park in the East Village, basketball in Greenwich Village, field hockey in Tompkins Square. What’s the best amateur sport in your city?

I don’t really do sports, do sports or get up, but I like to imagine that if I only heard about a very good league, or a friendly match for newbies, or something else that I could at the same time learn a sport and play it, then I’ll jump right away.

So, I want to hear about the best locations for casual players, newbies and low cost players. I want to hear about low impact sports that a non-sports person can participate in. You know the bowling league.

But I also want to know where the pros go – well, not literal pros or even literal amateurs who head to the Olympics, regional events or whatever. But what are these local amateur sports that you really need to know your shit about?

Points for originality, specificity (which city? What area? Where do you register?) And mentions ofMurderball .
