Use LinkedIn’s Nearby Feature to Quickly Connect With Other Event Attendees

Whenever you go to a conference or networking event, there is always a moment when you are trying to figure out how to stay in touch with the people you have met, at least some of them, after this is all over.

This week I moderated a discussion on the productivity of a conference on travel, and one of the participants made an interesting proposal on how to achieve this: the functionFind Nearby” in with In the Linked .

Think of it like an Airdrop, but for LinkedIn connections. When you enable this feature, you will be able to see all other people around you who also have this feature enabled, making it easier to communicate with these people.

This means that if you are at a networking event, you will be able to see all the other people who are there as well and connect with those you would like to talk to later without exchanging business cards or asking someone to spell their name. … so you can browse 95 other people with their names on LinkedIn before you find their actual profile.

To use it, you need the LinkedIn app on your phone.

Activate Bluetooth on your device, then go to My Network in the app, then Connect and then Find Nearby.

This will instantly display the names and profiles of everyone who has this feature near you so you can get in touch with them quickly.

If that’s what you were going to do later at home, it’s infinitely easier.

It’s worth noting that this feature will remain enabled until you disable it, so after exiting this network event, be sure to disable it. Unless, of course, you want to be constantly found in the application, wherever you are.
