Use Dish Soap to Remove Greasy Stains From Clothes

No matter how hard some of us try, we will always eat poorly. Somehow it seems like a drop of coffee or a spoonful of sauce always ends up on our shirts. This is especially annoying when the droplet is made of fat and is really difficult to get out of there. If this happens to you, your best bet is to go to the kitchen and buy some dish soap.

When it comes to clothing stains, oil is one of the most troublesome factors. However, dish soap can quickly remove grease, even if the stain itself is old.

As The Kitchn notes, dish soap is already made to break down solid debris on your dishes. The soap will also work on your clothes.

Here’s what you need to do :

  • Apply dish soap directly to the greasy stain. Rub in the detergent to soak the affected area.
  • Leave the garment on for a few minutes.
  • Wash your clothing as directed on the label.

It’s important to note that this only works with petroleum-based liquid dishwashing detergents ( like Dawn ), not all-natural, herbal, or environmentally friendly products.
