“Miracle Mineral Solution” Is Not a Remedy, It Is Bleach
You wouldn’t think we would need the FDA to stop us drinking bleach , but here’s the world we live in: If you try to find alternative treatments for cancer or autism, sooner or later you’ll probably hear about Miracle Mineral Solution “.
This solution is made from sodium chlorite, and the instructions tell you to mix it with citric acid or juice; this reaction produces a bleaching chemical called chlorine dioxide. (MMS proponents will tell you that it is not technically bleach, but we will leave the last word to the FDA: one section of a recent warning is titled “MMS Consumers Drink Bleach.” Here’s what they say about the alleged therapeutic effect.
Some distributors make false and dangerous claims that Miracle Mineral Supplement blended with citric acid is an antimicrobial, antiviral and antibacterial liquid that is a cure for autism, cancer, HIV / AIDS, hepatitis, flu and other conditions. But the FDA is not aware of any research showing these products are safe or effective for any medical condition. The use of these products may delay other treatments that have proven to be safe and effective.
Bottom line: Sodium chlorite foods are dangerous and you and your family shouldn’t use them.
Unfortunately, rave reviews for this decision are popping up on Facebook groups for parents of autistic children (although autism is not a disease or thing with a “cure”). MMS is also hailed as a “sacrament” by a group that calls itself the “church of health and healing.” So be careful if someone tells you about a drink or enema with amazing power. If it’s known by a name such as MMS, Chlorine Dioxide Protocol, or Water Treatment Solution, it could be bleach. Do not drink.
