Fast Food Ramen – Great Breakfast

Travel can open your eyes to so many things. More recently, on my way to a sous vide conference, I saw a woman eating a real cup of noodles at 5:10 am. Obviously, this woman is a hero and should be respected as such.

Why eat instant oatmeal (soft and squishy) when you can eat instant ramen (delicious and filled with umami)? As with savory oatmeal , breakfast ramen is almost endlessly customizable, but I highly recommend seasoning it with an egg of some kind, be it poached in broth or boiled and pickled . If you choose the poached method, first remove the noodles with tongs, place them in a bowl, and then boil the egg in the boiling broth for three minutes. Make a small dent in the center of the ramen and spoon the egg into the dent with a wooden spoon. Pour the broth into a bowl around the edge so as not to disturb the egg. If you choose the ramen egg route, simply slice and serve.

If you’re enjoying a more leisurely morning, I recommend frying some bacon salad and a few chopped mushrooms in melted bacon fat before adding them to your noodle soup for breakfast. If you’re in a rush, sliced ham and cherry tomato blisters are two quicker but still delicious options, just like the grilled vegetables last night.

If for some reason you don’t feel like sipping a hot broth, I encourage you to try the fried noodles and I beg you to fry them (again) in melted bacon fat along with any vegetables you wish, add the fried noodles to your creation. fried egg and garnish with finely chopped green onions, sesame seeds, and hot sauce if that’s your thing.
