Share Search Results From the Google App

Android: How do you usually share Google search results with your friends? I’ll confess I’ve never copied or pasted the giant URL of the results page to anyone; I usually just use the adorably passive-aggressive ” lmgtfy.com ” to help them. Maybe I’m a jerk.

However, I now have a reason to be less angry as Google is testing a dedicated Share button for search results in the Android version of the Google app. There are no promises that this feature will eventually go public, but I can’t figure out why Google wouldn’t want to make it easier for people to publish search results. This is good for Google and good for its users.

However, since Google is only testing this feature, you need to subscribe to the beta version of the Google app to play around with this (and everything else the company is preparing). It won’t take long at all.

  1. Visit the page Google consent to Google Apps.
  2. Click on the big blue button “Become a tester”.
  3. Open the Google Play store on your device and check diligently for app updates.

You will use the same page to leave the beta program if you want to go back to using the old boring version of the app that everyone else gets.
