Twitter Ranks You Among the People You Have Unsubscribed From

If you are currently unfollowing someone on Twitter, Twitter can send them a notification. Due to the error, which has existed for more than a week, the user X may be notified «Y subscribed to you” when Y is really unsubscribed from X. Twitter told several news agencies, is working on a fix. Until then, don’t unsubscribe from anyone if you don’t want them to know about it.

In the meantime, you can turn off the sound for the user so that he does not end up in your feed, but not in your mentions or private messages. If you get caught canceling your subscription, claim it was an accident or a mistake (very plausible!). Refill and then mute. Or you can grab a snack and let people know what you think of them.

It also means that if you were happy to see new people following you this week, they may have really unfollowed you, so go ahead and check it out. But the problem occurs only for some users, not all.

If you really like it and want to keep track of your unsubscriptions all the time, use tools like Who Unfollowed Me , Who.Unfollowed.Me, or UnfollowerStats .
