How Does IOS 13 Stack up Against Android 10?

They are in constant competition and there is never a shortage of shadows, whether it is Apple throwing the truth bomb on Android confidential information during its WWDC ’19 keynote, or Google showcasing the prowess of its integrated AI at its developer event. …
Whichever smartphone you use, you are bound to find similarities in features. That’s because, just like fashion, there are trends, and Apple and Google are setting the bar. Both companies will soon have major software updates – iOS 13 and Android 10 respectively – both of which will open up a host of new possibilities that you’ll quickly find you can’t live without. (Assuming you update your software, of course.)
Dark mode
Developers on both platforms cheered in unison when Apple and Google respectively announced that a dark interface would appear on their platforms. This is likely because many people feel burned due to the brightness of their screens.
iOS 13 and Android 10 will feature a system-wide dark mode. All menu screens, buttons, and fonts will stick to a darker color scheme, along with notification bars, pop-ups, and the iOS dock. All Apple and Google native apps will support this feature on each of their platforms.
Reminders
Apple announced an update to the Reminders app in iOS 13. The app will include new categories to help you categorize tasks by urgency, as well as a new AI-powered feature that will remind you when it’s time to do what you planned.
Android 10 will already have this capability, inherited through the Google Assistant app , which allows you to start a command with the words “Ok Google, remind me …”. And since it’s linked to an Assistant, a reminder will appear on your phone, on your smart speaker, and on your Chrome browser (but only if you want to).
Robust privacy features
At I / O, Google announced a host of privacy-related features coming in Android 10. We won’t know their scale until the software is final, although in recent versions of Android you can already tweak individual permissions in the app.
iOS 13 will have similar capabilities, where you can choose how often your location data is sent to a particular app so that it doesn’t ping when you’re not using your phone. As an alternative to Google, Apple also introduced Sign In with Apple, which will allow iPhone users to create new accounts and sign in with Face ID. Apple accounts will also be able to create disposable email addresses for various applications, which helps reduce the amount of spam in your inbox.
Improved maps
Apple Maps is finally getting the street view it deserves, except it’s called Look Around. It works similarly to Google Maps , allowing you to pan, walk on a virtual street, and scan for monuments.
IOS 13 also introduces the Share Estimated Time of Arrival feature. As with Google Maps, you can send a link to a friend to temporarily follow your route until you reach your destination. Unfortunately, sending a link from Apple Maps to your Android friend is unlikely to work as the app is not available on the Google Play store.
Swipe input
Swipe typing, where you swipe your finger across the keyboard and pray for the prediction engine to capture your gist, isn’t new to the iPhone. But in iOS 13, the feature will become native. Apple named its version Quick Path.
Google’s Gboard keyboard app (also for iOS ) has had this feature for years, not to mention third-party apps like SwiftKey and Swype . At least now you won’t need to download the app to enable it on iPhone.
Photos
iOS 13 will include new photo and video editing tools. You will be able to edit elements such as brightness, shadows, highlights, contrast, saturation, white balance, sharpness and clarity. There is also a vignette and noise reduction function. And for quick video editing, you can rotate it from the Photos app.
Android 10 has similar photo and video editing capabilities with Google Photos. The app allows you to crop and adjust photos and videos that are too long for social media.
Data on device
This is unlikely to be what you see in TV commercials. One of the great trends in the mobile world is the idea of compressing data so that it can be stored locally to reduce reliance on the cloud. Apple and Google, in particular, have figured out how to compress gigabytes of files into mere kilobytes of data – a feat of technology. This is not something that we immediately notice when we pick up an iPhone or Android phone. And actually, this is the whole point.
