Download “The Sims 4” Now for Free
The Sims 4 , the latest game in the popular Sims franchise , is completely free to download now. The Sims publisher EA is giving away the standard PC game until May 28th via the EA Origin Launcher .
The key word here is “standard”. In The Sims 4 is currently available in several versions: the standard version, which normally costs $ 40, and the Digital Deluxe version for $ 50. The Standard Edition contains only the base Sims 4 game, while the Digital Deluxe copies include the base game, as well as the Life of the Party, Up all Night and Awesome Animal Hats DLC packs, and a digital copy of The Sims 4 soundtrack.
While only the standard version of The Sims 4 is completely free at the time of this deal, the Digital Deluxe version is included in the free game library for EA Access subscribers , which costs either $ 5 a month or $ 30 a year.
Whichever option you choose, you will have the opportunity to purchase any of the many Sims 4 Expansion Packs and DLC Items for 10% off their base price during the Free Download Promotion. Digital Deluxe comes with several of these, but there are a few more available. These Expansion Packs add a ton of new content to the game such as new outfits and customization options for your Sims, new play scenarios, and tons of new collectables, although you can still get the full Sims experience just by sticking to the free standard edition if you’re not want to pay for updates. Here’s how to get your free copy of The Sims 4 :
- Download and open the EA Origin PC app .
- Log into your Origin account (or create a new one).
- Once logged in, go to the “My Home” tab.
- Click on the Free Sims 4 Promotion (remember, this offer is only valid until May 28th).
- When prompted, select the standard edition of The Sims 4 .
- Follow the instructions on the screen to start downloading the game.
- Wait for the download to complete – this may take several minutes depending on your internet speed.
- After downloading and installing the game, open the My Game Library tab and click the The Sims 4 icon to launch the game.
