See Wi-Fi Passwords for Every Network You Connected to With This Android App

I change gadgets much more often than most people, which means that when I visit friends with a laptop or tablet in tow, it probably isn’t the laptop or tablet I had the last time I was there. …

This is a professional hazard and also annoying for friends who have to give me their passwords for the 9000th time, most likely late at night, when I realize that I do not have them. Yes, there are several workarounds for this problem depending on the gadgets you have at your fingertips, but I recently discovered a great way thanks to Gadget Hacks : Find passwords on my phone using WiFi Key Recovery app.

If my Android phone or tablet has already been connected to the network before, then it is easy for me to find the password myself so that I can connect other devices using the app. Android devices don’t do this by default, but the app is an easy way to fix the problem.

To use it, download the app from the Google Play Store (your phone must be rooted ) and launch the app. You will need to give the app superuser access, but when you do, you can see all the Wi-Fi networks you’ve ever connected your device to, as well as the password for those networks. Passwords are searchable and you can share them with another device using a QR code using an additional app.

The app also offers the option to save the entire list to a text file. Personally, I am a little wary of granting superuser access to an application indefinitely. If you are too, I would recommend downloading the list and then either uninstalling the application or restrict its rights in the future. You can always re-enable it in the future if you need a fraudulent password, but you don’t give the app full power when you don’t need it.
